It's March Baby!

It March already. And I'm down with a flu and slight fever but it gets better. Blerrghh.

Some things I realized about living in a 4 season country is this. Time flies faster than a flashman can say 'Flash'. Just when I know I'm enjoying spring with flowers blooming so prettily, then it become summer in a nick of time. Changes make times occupy I guess. I don't have something interesting to tell about now but a few random notes here and there because it's March.

Fairuz has been working on saturday back to back.  This is the only chance He got to have overtime. So we didn't actually do anything for the past 2 weekend. I've been sleeping alot as I was having a fever. Although on saturday night we did attend the Imperial College Malaysian Night because we bought the tickets already and the director was my friend Aaron Singh. I thought the play was not bad. It's was funny but there were to much inside jokes which I bet Fairuz Thai friend, Nusda, didn't understand it. Funny to me but I'm not sure it wasn't that funny for Nusda.

On a quieter note, have you watch '500 days of Summer'. We watch it last night and I thought the film was very accurate. About life, about romance, about friends. I thought it was one of a good film as I'm sure most of us can relate to it.

I've received a wedding invitation from US. It's from Kristen. I thought she is a typical traditional American girl so I bet her wedding will be 'Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue, and a silver sixpence in her shoe'. It'll be awesome to experience the American wedding culture. I'm excited.

This is just a 'save the date' card. Not the formal one, mind you. In my oppinion, the American's wedding is one of the most practical wedding in the world. Even though they have customs and traditionals, they still applied it and modernized it based on which era. Like this one, they'll sent a notice telling everybody to pencil in and save the date so people can make an early plan. They'll then send the formal invitation for us to RSVP.It works both ways for the wedding planner and the guests. It's lovely but of course they didn't invite the whole 2000 of people, so they manage to do this kind of things and give special hospitality to each and every guests and make the day special.

Owh, and they have registry's in 3 stores. One of which is a charity. We can choose which gift we want to give them. In that case nobody won't have the same gift. The gifts are to help the new couple to set up a new home. Isn't that lovely and practical. Atleast there won't be a lot of glasses received until we as a new wed can open our own 'Glass shop'. In the end, it end up in the box unopened or gave away. What a waste and I hate wasting. So check out http://erikandkristen.ourwedding.com if you want to see what their registry are. Maybe you can help me on choosing the wedding gift that they choose. They also told us how Erik propose to Kristen. Lovely.

Anyway, I guess I have to plan for the States in June. Too bad Fairuz is going back to Msia for a wedding too. Ahhh the bliss of Spring and Summer. Everybody is planning for a holiday and for us. We'll be in Switzerland in May and Snowdonia in April.

Happy great day everyone!

I'm sure you'll have loads of fun at the wedding! And YES March is a wonderful month but I'm sorry you're bring it in by being sick. Hopefully with some more rest and possibly some meds you'll be feeling fine in no time!
Now as for a registries go, is there kind of a theme you want to do. Like if there are bathroom things, you could get those; or if there is a lot of kitchen things you get a few of those. So your gifts are all servicing the same purpose kinda. Well I checked out the Williams-Sonoma registry first and its a lot of like kitchen utensils and baking items. Stainless steel appliances are always nice but they are so expensive.
Macy's has a sale going on so all their items are reasonably priced. I would actually go with Macy's, mostly because thats the only store that I recognized out of the three in their registry. I guess they are into Martha Stewart items, well just pick something that you know that they'll use. If you know she is big on breakfast or cooking then stick to something serious for the kitchen....just a thought.
Hope I helped a little

that save the date card is so cute! tu laa.. i wish malaysians wouldnt be so typical. everytime weeding je mesti nk bagi glass sets lah, tea sets lah, and frames.. just to name a few. we dont hv such thing as registry. even if we do create one.. ppl would think we're asking for gifts or forcing them to get us gifts. haha. susah betul.

Syi,

Hello Syi, thanks. :) I was thinking of buying some range for the toilet or maybe bedding fashion. If I were to buy stainless steel or cookery, it would be heavy for me to bring it all the way from London to US. Now all i have to figure out is the postage cost. How does it work anyway since I can see that you are an American urself. Do we have bring the gifts on the wedding itself or r we suppose to send it before the ceremony? I saw it in the movie that they send it before.

Lea: cute kan! buat sendri je..They also sent it with some sweets all the way from US..hehe I makan terus masa I dpt tuh! I know right..haha hadiah I bole buat kedai gelas..silalah beli..haha
