Over the Mountains

There's a few hobbies I realized I've developed after I got married to Fairuz. One of them is climbing mountains.

So last weekend was our easter bank holiday. We don't usually get alot of holidays here in the UK especially for Fairuz, so we took the liberty to go for a getaway from Fairuz work stress. It was Shimi and Ria's idea and the place is called Snowdonia. There lies the tallest mountain in Wales. Of course the guys went physced to the idea of climbing and hiking. And because I've went through worse climbing Kinabalu mountain, a little surprise I was ok. It was beautiful as the mountain cliff has still got snows but it started to rain by a third quater of our journey. The experience was a bit dangerous for an ill prepared people like us. Plus, ria got a bit freaked out seeing a girl slides her way up. Though we stop at a third of the journey, I could not describe how breathtaking and mesmerizing the scenery was. Try hard as you may, we will never able to capture the beauty of the scenery with any gadgets accept our own eyes.

So the next day we decided to take a train to the summit to maybe have a cup of coffee up there, it turn out they did not manage to open the last station which is the summit just yet. Not until summer's really here and the snows maybe be all gone. So we ditched the Snowdon summit train and took other train just through the UK rainforest. All the three days we were there, 3 times we actually climbing and hiking. No city strolling this time. Funny because there are a few of which activities I have never like before and sweared to myself I will never will. Like climbing.

But you see, whatever the future holds is always a mistery. People change as time grew by. That saying applied to me after I realized I actually enjoy climbing mountains with Fairuz and my bestfriends. A hobby I've developed. It took Fairuz an enormous patient to break my solid principle of not wanting to climb any mountain. But up there, when you got to see how beautiful the world is. It all paid off. Especially when you went through a tough journey of climbing, all the exhaustions and knees weakening just won't bother anymore. It simply make the sweet seems sweeter.
