There's a few things that have been floating in this overloaded mind of mine lately. Like how to manage affairs simultaneously while still maintaining balance between them. Being a student, a worker, a wife, a daughter and a muslim devotee can take its toll sometimes. On one hand I wanted to be as ambitions as I used to be, staying up late working as if there's only me and my dream. On the other hand there's this new interest in seeking a true meaning of Islam as a way of life. And maybe on the third hand (if only it existed) there's this overflowing appetite of being a dedicated wife to my lovely husband. Such is life.
Speaking of, I've been perfecting my prayers according to the sunnah based on this video. The video is so clear it won't disappoint you, I promise. I think it's a great video and may Allah s.w.t give as much 'pahala' to the person who uploaded it - Bless him. And to those who have been praying according to the teaching of our school, I strongly suggest you check out the video. It's comprehensive enough. After all our prayers is the foundation of our religion. And I quote:
The prophet said: "The first thing that will be judges among a person's deeds on the Day of Resurrection is the prayer. If that is in good order, he will pass the test and prosper, and it that is defective, he will fall the test and will be a loser". (Tirmidhi)------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
On a fun note, last saturday my sister, Fairuz and I went for a musical theatre - Chicago. It was so great I forgot how much I love musical theatre. I used to dream of becoming a theatre performer when I was small. In my first year here I went for 3 of them - Lion King, we will rock you and wicked. And after two years I decided I just have go again.
Afterwards Fairuz and I went for a post theatre dinner in Bali-Bali, an Indonesian malay cuisine in Convent Garden.
It felt supremely good to sip teh tarik in the middle of a cold winter and to dine in a restaurant instead of a home meal cooking. I love Bali- bali. The ambient is serene and waitresses is friendly. And the food. oh the food. They sure can make the people keep on coming. And the reasons why pictures of foods and desert missing is due to an impatient food lover. Please excuse me.
Anyway, I hope you'll have a great monday. I'm off to see the hype on London Fashion Week this coming saturday.
Toodles.
